Better Than Life: How to Study the Bible and Like It – Video Streaming - Teen Group includes streaming access to nine teaching sessions by Caroline Saunders for group viewing. This product includes 3 transferable licenses with perpetual video access for group leaders.*  

Girls will discover how God’s “steadfast love is better than life” (Ps. 63:3) as Caroline Saunders leads them through an in-depth study of Psalm 63, teaching them to consider the context, observe, interpret, apply, and delight in God’s Word.

Video Sessions:

• Session 1: The Recipe: COIA (10:21)—In this opening session, Caroline teaches how to find delight in studying the Bible as she introduces each element of the COIA Bible study method: Context, Observation, Interpretation, and Application.
• ​Session 2: Context Matters (9:29)—Using Psalm 63, Caroline teaches the importance of understanding the context from which David was writing. She begins with 5Ws and H: Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How.
• Session 3: The Art of Paying Attention (7:09)—Observation is the art of paying attention. Caroline teaches us how to be good observers using DTR: Definitions, Themes, and Repetition.
• Session 4: What Did He Mean by That? (9:42)—God desires for us to know Him, and has always been faithful to reveal Himself to His people, which is why it’s important to understand what He says in His Word. Interpretation can be a little like detective work. In this session, Caroline teaches us how to interpret the Bible correctly using SGC: Scripture, Gospel, and Curiosity.
• Session 5: The Story of Hunger (15:39)—Humans have always been looking for things to satisfy their cravings. Throughout the Bible, God reveals that He is the only One who can satisfy. The Story of Hunger is a way to tell the story of Jesus and the gospel as one big story.
• Session 6: Eagerly Seeking God (8:02)—We all experience times of ongoing fear or loneliness. In fact, we can compare our experiences to David’s in Psalm 63:5-8. In this session, Caroline teaches us that fixating our minds on God by memorizing Scripture will bring peace and assurance even when we find ourselves in the wilderness.
• Session 7: Buckets of Delight (10:28)—Caroline takes us deeper into observation by studying the themes found in Psalm 63. As we fill in our “theme buckets,” we will begin to better understand God’s Word.
• Session 8: What About the Weird Stuff in the Bible (7:01)—Sometimes we come across something we don’t understand in the Bible, or it just sounds so strange we skip over it. This week, Caroline teaches us to use Interpretation and SGC to dig into potentially confusing verses such as Psalm 63:9-10.
• Session 9: Confidence in Christ (13:42)—In this final session, we will delight in studying God’s Word together as Caroline helps us work through the entire COIA recipe together looking at Psalm 63:11.
