But they knew that the way to make a difference is found in the commitment to be different. Just like them, God is calling us to be faithful, even if it means facing lions’ dens and fiery furnaces. What was true then is still true today—we do not face these challenges alone. Through this eight-session study, teen guys will learn that God is with them.
Video Sessions
- Session 1: Faithful (10:23)—In session one, J.D. Greear introduces us to the book of Daniel and sets the stage for the study. We meet the key players in the book, Daniel and his friends, and learn how, despite their youth, they were faithful to God in an unbelieving environment.
- Session 2: Different (12:21)—In session two, J.D. Greear explores Daniel 1 and reveals that you can’t make a difference unless you are different. We are called to be set apart and different from the culture by living by a different set of values.
- Session 3: Validated (13:18)—In session three, J.D. Greear looks at Daniel 2 and teaches how God reveals His kingdom and distinguishes it from the counterfeit ones. God validates those who seek after Him and are faithful to Him even in a hostile culture.
- Session 4: Courage (15:48)—In session four, J.D. Greear looks at courage as it’s found in Daniel 3. Daniel’s friends stood courageously in the face of opposition to their faith and God was with them in the fiery furnace.
- Session 5: Knockout (15:35)—In session five, J.D. Greear unpacks Daniel 4 and how God knocks out pride in our lives and how He used Daniel to transform the life of a pagan king into one who believed.
- Session 6: Verdict (13:25)—In session 6, J.D. Greear explains Daniel 5, revealing how God will judge those who oppose Him but gives strength and courage to those who live and shine for Him.
- Session 7: Habits (14:57)—In session 7, J.D. Greear looks at one of the most famous stories in all the Bible, Daniel in the lion’s den. He will reveal how God can develop the habit of courage in our lives.
- Session 8: Prayer (14:42)—In session 8, J.D. Greear teaches about prayer and how Daniel’s faithful prayer life sets an example for us as we seek to grow in the practice of prayer.
