Overview

Open Your Bible: God's Word is for You and for Now - Video Streaming - Individual includes perpetual streaming access* to 7 teaching sessions by Raechel Myers and Amanda Bible Williams for individual viewing.

We're all longing to hear from God, aching to know who He is and know His heart. The beautiful truth is this - we can encounter the living God today in the pages of His Word. The Bible is for you and for now. Using Scripture itself, powerful storytelling and real-life examples, Open Your Bible will quench a thirst you might now even know you have - one that can only be satisfied by God's Word.

Video Sessions:
  • Session 1 (7:59)—Raechel and Amanda open the study by exploring this important question: What is it that keeps us from opening our Bibles? We learn that we can stop putting up false parameters as to why we can’t engage with God’s Word, and through Hebrews 4:12-13, we see that the Word is living and active.
  • Session 2 (10:01)—The lyrics “If you tarry till you’re better, you will never come at all” from the old hymn “Come Ye Sinners, Poor and Needy” sum up the opening message of this session. Raechel and Amanda build on the discussion of how the Bible is for each of us, and it is for now—not for when we’re “good enough, strong enough, or smart enough.” They also walk through Exodus 19, noting that God always keeps His promises, He is faithful, and He is trustworthy, even when we fail.
  • Session 3 (4:55)—Amanda likens a relationship with gardening to a relationship with our Father. You can’t nourish a plant with good intentions, nor can you nourish a relationship with our Father with only good intentions. Reading John 5:39-40, we learn to embrace that it is only Christ who can be our Living Water. Through engaging with the Word, we can trust to find Him there.
  • Session 4 (6:57)—In this session, Raechel and Amanda talk about the discipline of applying truth to our lives. Looking to Mark 2:16-17, we learn how we can go to God’s Word to transform us daily.
  • Session 5 (7:56)—We can look to the psalmist David as an example of what it looks like to abide in God. As we seek Him in His Word, we find in Psalm 1 how to abide in Christ not by way of a to-do list, but by a way of living.
  • Session 6 (6:55)—Turning to Hebrews 10:23-25, Raechel and Amanda discuss what true biblical community can look like as we motivate each other towards “love and good works” (v. 24, CSB). Through a metaphorical story from Raechel’s childhood, we see how valuable it is to look to those with spiritual maturity for wisdom while also helping and encouraging those who are newer to the faith.
  • Session 7 (7:41)—In this final session, Raechel and Amanda encourage us to use what we learn from the Scriptures to equip us and take action, as Paul instructs in 2 Timothy 3:14-17. We come to understand we need to “be doers of the word and not hearers only” (Jas. 1:22, CSB).
